- Reads your cat’s chip on the way in — stops other cats entering.
- No app or hub needed; the simplest to run.
- Batteries last around 12 months.
- The most affordable microchip option.
Choose Microchip if you just want to keep strays out.
DualScan Connect

- Controls entry and exit — keep an indoor cat in.
- Lock, unlock and set curfews from the Sure Petcare app.
- Tracks comings and goings and long-term activity.

SureFlap questions
Does my cat need to wear a collar?
No. SureFlap reads your cat’s existing microchip, so there’s nothing to wear. If your cat isn’t chipped, it also works with an optional SureFlap RFID collar tag.
How many cats can one door recognise?
Up to 32 cats. Each door stores up to 32 microchip identities, so it suits multi-cat homes.
Can a SureFlap door be fitted into glass?
Yes. Choose the glass fitting, which includes the mounting adaptor, and your glazier cuts a round hole (212–260 mm) in the pane. For timber, PVC or metal doors and walls, use the door/wall fitting — a straightforward DIY job.
What’s the difference between Microchip and DualScan Connect?
The Microchip door is one-way — it reads your cat’s chip to let it in and keep strays out. The DualScan Connect is two-way: it controls entry and exit (so you can keep a cat indoors) and adds remote lock, curfews and activity tracking through the Sure Petcare app.
Do I need the Hub?
Only for the DualScan Connect’s app features — remote lock, curfews and activity monitoring. The door still works as a normal two-way microchip door without it. The one-way Microchip door doesn’t use a hub at all.
How long do the batteries last?
About 12 months on the Microchip door and around 6 months on the DualScan Connect, using 4 x AA batteries. Both have a low-battery indicator.
What warranty and shipping do you offer?
