A through-wall dog door for solid doors
Solid doors and walls need a lined hole, or the raw edge is exposed. The Small Tunnel has a telescoping liner that adjusts itself to any thickness from 11 to 52 mm as you screw the frames together — nothing to cut to length, nothing to measure twice.
Same opening, same dogs
180 mm wide by 227 mm high: small dogs up to about 360 mm at the shoulder, and large cats. The flap is UV-stable polycarbonate on a magnetic catch with a brush seal.
DIY, one person
Trace the template at belly height, cut the hole with a jigsaw (or core through the wall), push the outer frame in from outside, slide the inner frame onto it from inside and tighten the screws. The dial is already fitted.
Download the installation guide (PDF) — the fitting sheet that comes in the box.
Thin door? Choose the Slim Line
If the panel is 30 mm or less, the Small Slim Line is the same door without the tunnel at a lower price.
What arrives
- Dogwalk Small Tunnel door — inner and outer frame with self-adjusting tunnel
- Polycarbonate flap, fitted
- 4-way locking dial, factory fitted
- Cutting template and stainless screws
- Installation guide
DIY fit — drill, jigsaw and screwdriver. No trades needed.
Care
Wipe the flap and frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent. No solvents, no abrasive pads — they haze polycarbonate. The brush seal can be replaced if it wears; ask us for the part.
Warranty
3 years on the door against manufacturing and parts defects; 1 year on movable parts — the replacement flap (W-SDDRF, $26) and the 4-way locking dial (W-LDSDDG, $13). Excludes accidental damage, misuse and normal wear. Keep your proof of purchase. This sits alongside, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
How to fit it
- 1Measure belly height. Floor to your dog’s stomach while standing — the bottom of the opening sits there.

- 2Mark the cut-out. Tape the template from the box to the door at that height and draw round it.
- 3Cut the hole. Drill a start hole in each corner and cut along the line with a jigsaw. Suits panels 11–52 mm.
- 4Fit the outer frame. From outside, push the outer frame into the hole — the tunnel extends to meet the panel.
- 5Fit the inner frame. From inside, push the inner frame on and screw the two halves together evenly.
- 6Test the lock. The dial comes fitted — turn it through all four positions and check the flap swings freely.

One measurement
Stand your dog square and measure from the floor to the top of the shoulder blade. That number picks the door. The opening should be at least 25 mm wider than your dog’s widest point, and its top should sit above shoulder height.
Multi-pet home? Size for the biggest, fit for the smallest — the bottom of the opening at the smaller animal’s belly height.

Before you buy
Do I need to cut the tunnel to my door thickness?
No. The tunnel telescopes and sets itself to the panel as the two frames are screwed together, anywhere from 11 to 52 mm.
Can it go through a wall?
Yes, up to 52 mm total. Cut or core the opening, then fit exactly as for a door. For thicker walls contact us before ordering.
Which dogs fit?
Small dogs up to about 360 mm at the shoulder and large cats. Usable opening 180 × 227 mm.
Tunnel or Slim Line?
Panel 30 mm or less: Slim Line. Thicker, or a wall: Tunnel. Opening, flap, lock and warranty are the same.
What tools do I need?
Drill, jigsaw, screwdriver, tape measure. Allow about an hour.
