Which size? Measure the shoulder
Dog standing square, tape from the floor to the top of the shoulder blade. Between two sizes, go up. The bottom of the opening goes at your dog’s belly height, not on the floor.

Dog door questions
What size dog door do I need?
Measure floor to the top of the shoulder blade. Up to about 300 mm: Catwalk® Maxi. Up to about 360 mm in a wooden door: Dogwalk® Small. Up to about 380 mm in glass: Intermediate. 450–500 mm: Medium. Between sizes, go up. Find your door does the matching for you.
Can a dog door go in a sliding glass door or ranch slider?
Yes. A glazier cuts a round hole in the pane — 320 mm for the Intermediate, 385 mm for the Medium — or supplies a new double-glazed pane with the hole made, and the Dogwalk® door clamps through it. The slider keeps its full width and still slides and locks.
Can a dog door go into double glazing?
Yes. An existing double-glazed unit cannot be cut, so the glazier orders a new unit with the hole made in both sheets and swaps it into your frame. Choose a Dual Glaze model: Intermediate 4–32 mm, Medium 3–32 mm.
What is the biggest dog door you make?
The Dogwalk® Medium: a 270 × 300 mm opening (270 × 307 mm wood-fitting) for dogs to about 500 mm at the shoulder. Dogs over that, or too wide for the 270 mm opening, are beyond our range.
Can I fit a dog door myself?
In a timber, uPVC or metal door, yes — the wood-fitting Small and Medium need a drill, a jigsaw and a screwdriver, with the template in the box. In glass, a glazier cuts the hole; fitting the door to it afterwards is a screwdriver job.
Are dog doors a security risk?
A Medium opening is large enough to reach through, so lock it when you are out. Every door has a 4-way locking dial; the glass Dogwalk® doors take a security clip that holds the dial locked. More in are pet doors a security risk?
Will a cat use a dog door?
Yes, as long as the bottom of the opening is low enough for the cat to step through. Size for the biggest animal and fit at the smallest one’s belly height.
What warranty do the dog doors have?
3 years on the door and 1 year on the moving parts — flap, 4-way locking dial and magnets. Replacement flaps are stocked for every Dogwalk® model.
