The in-between dog door
Plenty of dogs are too big for a cat door and nowhere near big enough for a medium one. The Intermediate fills that gap: a 216 × 237 mm opening for dogs up to about 380 mm at the shoulder, through a 320 mm hole that leaves more of your glass intact.
Single or double glazing
The Dual Glaze frame clamps through glass from 4 to 32 mm with 16 mm standing proud on each face. That range covers single panes, sealed double-glazed units and most laminated glass, so it suits a new build as readily as a 1970s ranchslider.
Glazier-fitted, screw-free
The glazier cuts or supplies the pane with a 320 mm round hole, the inner and outer frames clamp through it and the brush seal closes against the glass. There are no fixings into the glass and nothing to crack it.

Lower profile? Choose the Slim Line
On a ranchslider with single glazing 4–13 mm, the Intermediate Slim Line drops the frame to 8 mm each side — same opening, flap and lock.

Care
Wipe the flap and frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent. No solvents, no abrasive pads — they haze polycarbonate. The brush seal can be replaced if it wears; ask us for the part.
Warranty
3 years on the door against manufacturing and parts defects; 1 year on movable parts — the replacement flap (G-IDDRF, $28) and the 4-way locking dial (G-LDDDW, $16); the optional security clip (SC-DDW, $13) adds a second lock. Excludes accidental damage, misuse and normal wear. Keep your proof of purchase. This sits alongside, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
What your glazier will do
- 1Measure belly height. Floor to your dog’s stomach while standing — that is where the bottom of the opening goes.

- 2Mark and scribe. Mark that height on the glass from the outside and scribe a 320 mm circle — this is the cut-out.

- 3Cut, or replace. Single glazing: the glazier cuts the hole. Double glazing or toughened: the glazier supplies a new pane with the hole already made.
- 4Fit the two frames. Outer frame in from outside, inner frame over it from inside — a slip joint that closes against the glass.

- 5Screws. Cut the fixing screws to length and tighten firmly. Do not over-tighten.

- 6Test the lock. The dial comes fitted — turn it through all four positions to check.

Four-way locking

Entry only · exit only · both ways · locked. The Medium also ships with locking clips that secure the fully-locked position.

One measurement
Stand your dog square and measure from the floor to the top of the shoulder blade. That number picks the door. The opening should be at least 25 mm wider than your dog’s widest point, and its top should sit above shoulder height.
Multi-pet home? Size for the biggest, fit for the smallest — the bottom of the opening at the smaller animal’s belly height.

Before you buy
Which dogs fit the Intermediate?
Dogs up to about 380 mm at the shoulder, measured floor to the top of the shoulder blade. The usable opening is 216 mm wide by 237 mm high. Measure your dog’s width and chest depth, add 25 mm to each, and both must fit inside the opening.
Intermediate or Medium — how do I choose?
By shoulder height. Up to about 380 mm, this door; 450–500 mm, the Medium. A dog in between is usually happier with the Medium, because the opening top should sit above the shoulder.
Can it go into double glazing?
Yes. The frame takes glass to 32 mm. A sealed unit cannot be cut once made, so your glazier orders a new unit with the 320 mm hole pre-cut and fits the door into that.
How far does the frame project?
16 mm on each side of the glass. If you need less on a slider, the Intermediate Slim Line projects 8 mm.
Is it DIY?
No — the glass has to be cut or replaced, which is glazier work. Everything after that is quick: the two frames clamp together with four screws and the dial is already fitted.
