A dog door is a hole in your house. Most of the time that is the whole point — but a locking dial can be turned by anyone who can reach it, including a determined toddler or an arm through the flap. The security clip closes that gap.
It slips over the locking dials once the door is in the fully locked position and stops them being rotated back to open, deliberately or by accident. No tools, no drilling, nothing to install permanently — you clip it on when you go out and pull it off when you get home. For holiday houses, rentals and ground-floor sliders it is the cheapest peace of mind in the range.
What it fits
Glass-fitting Dogwalk® dog doors only — the Intermediate and Medium sizes. It is not made for Catwalk® cat doors or for any wood-fitting door, because the dial spacing is different. Choose clear for clear-framed doors and white for white-framed doors.
Questions about this part
Does the security clip fit a cat door?
No. SC-DDC and SC-DDW are designed specifically for glass-fitting Dogwalk® dog doors. They are not compatible with Catwalk® cat doors or with any wood-fitting pet door.
Does it replace the locking dials?
No, it works with them. Turn the dials to the fully locked position first, then fit the clip over the top so they cannot be turned back.
Is it a genuine deterrent or just a child lock?
Both, within reason. It stops the dials being reached and rotated through the flap, which is the realistic way a locked pet door gets opened from outside. It is not a substitute for a deadbolt on the door itself.
Which colour should I order?
Match your door frame: clear-framed doors (model codes ending C) take SC-DDC, white-framed doors (ending W) take SC-DDW. Black-framed doors have no matching clip — the clear one is the usual choice.
