A pet door works hard. Thousands of pushes a year, southerly rain on one side and a warm hallway on the other — and eventually the flap is the part that shows it. Crazing, a hairline split along the bottom edge, or a flap that no longer sits flush and lets the draught in. Replacing it takes a few minutes and makes a twenty-year-old door feel new again.
Every flap here is the genuine Pet-Tek part, moulded in the same UV-stabilised polycarbonate as the original — not a generic cut-to-size sheet. It arrives in the correct thickness and profile for your frame, so it hangs true and the seal closes properly. Standard flap kits include the bottom closure magnet. The multi-magnetic flap (G-MCDRF) is supplied with its hinge plate fixing system instead.
Finding your model number
The model code is moulded into the door frame itself — look at the inner face of the surround. G- means the door is fitted into glass, W- means it is fitted into timber or a wall. Match that prefix first, then pick your door size from the dropdown. Flaps are colour-neutral: one flap fits the clear, white, black and brown versions of the same door.
Fitting
Unclip or unscrew the inner frame, lift the old flap and its hinge pin clear, seat the new flap, refit the frame. No glazing work, no removing the door from its hinges, no silicone. An install manual PDF is available for every model — ask us and we will email it through.
Questions about this part
Will a replacement flap fit a door made twenty years ago?
Yes. Pet-Tek has kept the flap and frame geometry consistent across the Catwalk® and Dogwalk® range, and parts remain available for the full product life — including doors manufactured over 20 years ago. If your model code is not in the list, send it to us and we will identify the right flap.
Does the flap come with the magnet?
Yes. Every standard replacement flap kit includes the magnet that holds the bottom edge closed. The exception is G-MCDRF for the multi-magnetic glass door, which ships with a hinge plate fixing system instead.
Do I need a different flap for a white door versus a black one?
No. Flaps are the same clear polycarbonate regardless of frame colour, so one flap covers every colour variant of that door model. Colour only matters when ordering locking dials.
My flap is fine but the door rattles in the wind — is a new flap the fix?
Usually yes. Rattle is normally a tired closure magnet or a flap that has bowed slightly out of plane, and the kit replaces both. If the noise is coming from the frame rather than the flap, check the fixing screws before ordering.
Can I cut a flap down to fit a different brand of pet door?
We do not recommend it. The flap is moulded with a specific hinge profile and edge thickness that only mates with a Pet-Tek frame. Cut down, it will not seal and the closure magnet will sit in the wrong place.
