Cat & Dog Doors
Nine doors, all made by Pet-Tek — Catwalk® for cats, Dogwalk® for dogs. Each has a UV-stabilised polycarbonate flap and a 4-way locking dial, with a fit for glass, timber, PVC and metal.

Glass-fit vs Wood-fit
Every Catwalk® and Dogwalk® door comes in two fittings. The right one depends on the door or window you’re putting it into.
Glass-Fitting
Glazier-installed · permanent
- For glass windows, doors and ranch sliders — single, double or triple glazing.
- A round cut-out is made in the pane, or a new pane is supplied with the hole ready.
- Installed by a glazier for a sealed, permanent finish — not a DIY cut.
- The tidiest look when your pet’s route is a glass door.
Choose glass-fit if your pet’s door out is a glass door, window or ranch slider.
Wood-Fitting
DIY-friendly · timber, PVC & metal
- Cuts into a timber, PVC or metal door, garage door or wall.
- Suits panels 11–52 mm thick — most standard doors.
- Straightforward DIY with basic tools, or ask us for a fitter.

Pet door questions
What size pet door do I need?
Measure your pet’s shoulder width and the height from the floor to the top of its shoulders. The flap needs to be a little wider than the shoulders, and the step-over height low enough to climb through comfortably. Each Catwalk® and Dogwalk® model lists its opening size — match it to your measurements, and if your pet is between sizes, go up.
Can I fit a cat or dog door into glass?
Yes. Our glass-fitting models are made to be installed by a glazier, who cuts a round hole in the pane or supplies a new pane with the cut-out ready — single, double or triple glazing. We don’t recommend cutting glass yourself. For timber, PVC and metal doors, the wood-fitting models are DIY-friendly.
Glass-fit or wood-fit — which should I choose?
It comes down to the door you’re fitting into. Choose glass-fitting for glass windows, doors and ranch sliders (installed by a glazier). Choose wood-fitting for timber, PVC or metal doors and walls 11–52 mm thick — a straightforward DIY job.
Do you sell microchip cat doors?
Pet-Tek’s Catwalk® range is battery-free magnetic, not microchip — a magnet on your cat’s collar keeps other cats out. For microchip doors we stock SureFlap, which reads the chip your cat already has — available now in one-way and two-way DualScan Connect models.
Are the doors made in New Zealand, and what’s the warranty?
Yes — our cat and dog doors are made under the Pet-Tek International name and have been designed in New Zealand since 1999. Every door carries a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.
What are the flaps made of, and do they lock?
The flaps are UV-stabilised polycarbonate, built to handle New Zealand sun and daily use. Every model has a 4-way locking dial — fully open, in-only, out-only or fully locked.
Can I buy a replacement flap for my old Catwalk or Dogwalk door?
Yes. We carry genuine Pet-Tek replacement flaps for nine door models, from the Original Glass Cat Door through to the Wood-Fitting Standard Dog Door, priced from NZ$20 to NZ$29. Because we are the manufacturer, parts fit doors we have made since 1999. Match the flap to your door model — the model code is moulded into most frames — or email us a photo and we’ll identify it.
